Getting Started

Sign in, get your bearings, and learn the layout properly so the rest of KeyOne makes sense. About 8 minutes.

Welcome to KeyOne. This guide gets you from the sign-in screen to confidently moving around the app. No data setup is required to follow along — this is purely about finding your way. If you want the express version, see the Quickstart instead.

Signing in

Open KeyOne and you’ll land on the sign-in screen. You have three ways to get in:

  • Email and password — enter your work email and password, then click Sign in.
  • Google — click Continue with Google and pick your work account.
  • Microsoft — click Continue with Microsoft and pick your work account.

First time here?

Click Create account from the sign-in screen. You’ll be asked for:

  • Your full name
  • Your work email
  • A password of at least 8 characters, entered twice to confirm

You’ll need to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to continue, then you can sign in.

Forgot your password?

Click Forgot password?, enter your email, and submit. If an account exists for that address, you’ll get a reset link by email.

Note: the reset link expires in one hour, so use it promptly. If it lapses, just request another. KeyOne deliberately gives the same “if an account exists…” message whether or not the email is registered — that’s a privacy measure, not a glitch.

A note on roles

What you can see and do depends on your role. Office users (analysts, category and sales managers, executives) work in the Work Queue, hubs, and KeyChat. Field reps get access to KeyLink, the mobile companion. If you expect access to something you can’t see, it’s usually a role or scope matter for your administrator — see Account & Settings.

The layout

Once you’re in, KeyOne is organised into a few consistent areas. Learn these once and you’ll always know where things live.

The sidebar (left)

The sidebar is your main way to move around. It starts as a slim rail of icons and expands to show labels when you hover over it. Prefer it always open? Use the pin toggle at the top to keep it expanded.

Items are grouped so related things sit together:

  • Core — your everyday tools:
    • Work Queue — your inbox of decisions (risks, decisions, tasks)
    • Overview — the analytics overview / dashboard surface
    • KeyChat — the conversational analyst
    • Settings — your account basics
  • Commercial — hubs such as Price & Promo, Category Share, Margin, and Innovation
  • Supply & Operations — hubs such as S&OP, Predictive Ordering, Distribution, OSA, Waste, Route Optimisation, and Staff Allocation
  • Intelligence — Risks & Decisions (your Work Queue), Image Recognition (KeyLink), and AI Decision Intelligence (KeyChat)

Wherever you are, the active item is marked with a yellow accent on the left edge, so you always know your place.

Tip: there are fourteen hubs in total. Don’t try to learn them all at once — start with the two or three that match your role (a category manager might live in Category Share and OSA), and explore the rest as you need them.

The top bar

Across the top you’ll find:

  • The KeyOne wordmark on the left — click it to go home.
  • A breadcrumb showing your current section (e.g. → Work Queue).
  • A search button that opens the command palette.
  • Your profile avatar on the right, showing your initials.

Click your avatar to open a small menu with Settings and Sign out.

The Decision Feed bar

Along the bottom of the app runs a persistent Decision Feed strip, visible wherever you are. It shows live counts of your open risks, decisions, and tasks, and refreshes itself roughly every minute. A small status dot tells you whether the feed is live (green), loading (yellow), or still warming up (red). Full detail: Notifications & the Decision Feed.

Search and jump with the command palette

Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) anywhere in the app to open the command palette. Start typing to jump straight to any hub, page, or section — no clicking through the sidebar. Use the arrow keys to move and Enter to go.

Signing out

When you’re done — especially on a shared or public device — sign out via your avatar menu → Sign out, or from the Settings screen. You’ll be returned to the sign-in screen.

Your first session, step by step

Here’s a sensible path for a first proper look around:

  1. Open the Work Queue (sidebar → Core). This is where decisions land — risks, decisions, and tasks KeyOne has surfaced, already ranked. See Decision Inbox & Win List.
  2. Open one item to see how a decision is laid out — its estimated impact, related items, and how you resolve it. See Working a Decision.
  3. Visit a hub from the Commercial or Supply & Operations group to see the analytics view and its Decisions & Actions panel. See Using a Hub.
  4. Ask KeyChat a question in plain language, and check the citations on its answer. See KeyChat.
  5. Learn ⌘K. If you take one habit from day one, make it the command palette.

A note on honesty

KeyOne tells you the truth about its own state. If a part of the app needs a connection that isn’t set up yet in your environment, you’ll see a clear, labelled message saying so — never a fake number or an empty chart pretending to be data. If something says “not provisioned” or “degraded”, that’s an accurate status, not an error on your side. The FAQ & Troubleshooting guide explains the common ones.
