Keyboard Shortcuts & the Command Palette
Move through KeyOne without touching the mouse. The ⌘K command palette and the keys that drive it. About 3 minutes.
The fastest way around KeyOne is the keyboard. At the centre of it is the command palette — a search box that jumps you to any hub, page, or section in a couple of keystrokes.
Opening the command palette
Press ⌘K on a Mac, or Ctrl+K on Windows/Linux, from anywhere in the app. You can also open it from the search button in the sidebar header or the top bar.

A modal opens with a search box and a list of results grouped by section (for example Navigation and Routes). Each result shows an icon and a label.
Driving the palette
Once it’s open, everything is on the keyboard:
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Type | Filter results by name — start typing a hub or page |
| ↑ / ↓ | Move the highlight up and down the results |
| Enter | Jump to the highlighted result |
| Esc | Close the palette |
| Tab | Cycle through focusable elements |
Tip: you don’t need to type a full name. A few letters of a hub — say
osa, waste, orchat— is usually enough to surface it as the top result, then Enter takes you there.
A typical jump
Want to get from a work item straight to KeyChat?
- Press ⌘K.
- Type
chat. - Press Enter.
Three keystrokes, no hunting through the sidebar. Build the habit and navigation becomes almost invisible.
Other keys worth knowing
These work in the contexts where they apply:
| Key | Where | Action |
|---|---|---|
| ⌘K / Ctrl+K | Anywhere | Open the command palette |
| Esc | Modals & the palette | Close / cancel |
| Enter | KeyChat input | Send your message |
| Shift + Enter | KeyChat input | New line without sending |
Honest scope: KeyOne’s keyboard story centres on the ⌘K command palette plus the standard modal/input keys above. There isn’t a large catalogue of bespoke single-key shortcuts to memorise — if you don’t find a shortcut for something here, assume it’s mouse-driven for now rather than hidden.
Why bother
For power users — analysts and managers living in the Work Queue and hubs all day — the palette removes the single biggest friction in any web app: finding the page you want. Learn ⌘K first; the rest follows.
